I first shot this when I was about 12. Confession: Sometimes, when I was a little older, I’d use this to shoot rabbits in the garden instead of the air rifle. I just hand-loaded it with .22 short-short cartridges (which were too small to work in the tubular magazine). The sound was not much louder than the air rifle, so I didn’t get in trouble even though the shooting the air rifle was legal in the Philly suburb where I lived, and the .22 wasn’t. It was, however, much more effective against the rabbits in the garden.</p> <p>The rifle was my Dad’s, and before that it was his Dad’s.
